The Gallery has been repaired (so to speak). No images were lost. Comments, rankings, viewcounts and such were lost i’m sorry to say. Not that it was used much though. I’m still in the process fo restoring some albums. So be patient a little longer.

Apparently the rhebergen.net Gallery2 installation did not survive an upgrade. I’m not sure exactly what the trouble was, but some tables in the MySQL databse got damaged beyond repair (yes I tried). So now I am purging the old database and installing a new one. No pictures/photos are lost but looks like I have to manually recreate all accounts and albums. I’ll could use some help actually. If there are users out there that could jump in, please contact me.
More to follow as I make my way repairing it.

As you have heard by now there has been a terrible earthquake Sichuan China. We were right in the middle of it although not in the worst hit area. We’re all okay and spent the day in a park and the night in a parking garage basement.

PS: details to follow when we get home

The WordPress blogging engine and mysql database have been updated. This is why the start/front page looks/looked a bit different. Apparently WP ‘thinks’ the most recently posted article is too old and does not display it. Of course in this case that would be correct if you look at the date of the previous article.
Strange, once I posted this article it seems back to normal again,.. go figure!

It’s been a while since there was an update. A lot has happend. The server that is bringing you this site has undergone major reconstruction. The two seperate file systems that were there for historic reasons have been merged. This created some unforseen trouble which meant some down time. Sorry ’bout that. I won’t go into the details here but the end of the matter is that we have a lot more space on the server now!
On a different note. Those of you who have an account on the music streamer/server will be happy to hear that it is accessible again on the well known address and port. A brand new router was installed with lots of new features. One of which is called “Fluffy-cam”. If you want to know more about it please contact me

With the holiday seasons alomst upon us and recently Chuan’s birthday,.. and in March next year that other birthday. I’ve decided it’s about time rhebergen.net had a gift register. It is pretty straightforward. Browse to:
The Gifts Register!
and apply for an account. Next login and decide who you want to shop for and who can shop for you. You’ll be able to enter a list of articles that you would like to receive as gifts and also look at lists of other friends or family members that have lists and shop for them. It is prettymuch self explanatory. So have a go at it!

Still tinkering with the music streamer. So be patient please. I’m having trouble getting the hard drive with music mounted on the satellite receiver (yes you read this correctly). One of these days you’ll be able to see some video streaming to you right from the satellite receiver!

Always want to have access to your bookmarks? SiteBar is the solution. I’ve been using it on and off and am quite satisfied. It is possible to store several bookmark collections and do so securely. All is stored in an sql database. Firefox has a plugin/extension which eases use. For more info look at the SiteBar website. Wanna use it? Contact me and I’ll set up the server side part for ya.
